Wayne Allen Brodbeck, 78, of Lower Windsor Twp., PA, died at York Hospital on April 9, 2018. He was the husband of Juanita L. (Anders) Brodbeck with whom he observed their 56th wedding anniversary on June 24, 2017.
Born June 4, 1939 in Hallam, he was the son of the late George and Velma (Warner) Brodbeck.
Wayne was a retired employee of Caterpillar Inc. and later of Perform Group, LLC.
He was a member of Kreutz Creek Valley V.F.W. Post 7045 of Hellam, Seagraves Social Club of Wrightsville, Owls of Columbia, L.O.O.M., Lodge 307 of Columbia, Abel-Poff-Leithiser American Legion, Post 469 of Wrightsville, the Hawk Gunning Club and the Social Club of Wrightsville.
Wayne enjoyed camping, riding Gold Wing motorcycles, watching NASCAR and rooting for Jeff Gordon and belonged to Highly Missed Horseshoe League.
In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by a daughter, Wynetta L. Swarr and husband, Richard; son, Allen W. Brodbeck; grandchildren, Kaleigh A. Brodbeck, Jessica L. Jones and her husband, Maurice, Alexandra P. Brodbeck and Tanner P. Swarr; great-grandchildren, Aria L. Jones and Armani Jones; a brother, George Brodbeck; and a sister, Jane Minnick and husband, Vermont. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathreen Erhart.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church, 85 Old Church Lane, York. Burial will be in Kreutz Creek Cemetery. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 700 Hellam St. Wrightsville, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church.
