Obituary for Thomas Rojahn
Thomas S. Rojahn died peacefully at home, Saturday, February 10, 2018. Born in York on September 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Ernest August and Florence (Sieker) Rojahn. Tom was the loving husband of nearly 49 years to Frances (Harvey) Rojahn.
Tom was a 1958 graduate of York High School, and went on to attend the Pennsylvania State University. Following his schooling, he served in the US Army. Tom enjoyed careers with the York Water Company, Thrivent Financial, C.S. Davidson, Inc. and LSC Design, Inc.
Tom was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hawk Gunning Club, Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors, Coachman Golden Eagle Camping Club, and Yellow Breeches Angler’s and Conservation Association.
Tom was a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America. He assisted with the York Explorer Post, was a Chief in the Order of the Arrow, and enjoyed many memories at Camp Tuckahoe. Tom had a passion for everything outdoors.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his sons: Timothy S. Rojahn and his wife Leslie R. Rojahn of York; Michael T. Rojahn and his wife Lesley D. Rojahn of Collierville, TN, his daughter Elizabeth R. Dunn, and her husband Thomas A. Dunn of Baltimore, MD, and his brother Ernest A. Rojahn, Jr. of Lancaster. Tom is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Dylan T. Rojahn, Carson M. Rojahn, Preston T. Rojahn, Owen T. Dunn, Nolan P. Dunn, and Norah M. Dunn.
A memorial service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2121 Roosevelt Avenue, York, with Pastor Skip Nizinski officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the church.
