Obituary for Lee Wientge Jr.

Lee L. Wientge, Jr., 83, of York died February 9, 2018 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ruthie M. Wientge.

Born October 12, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Lee L. and Sylvia Wientge.

Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was the director of manufacturing for many companies in the garment industry. They include the former Danskin Company, Liz Clairborne Company, and Greif Companies.

He attended Washington University in St. Louis, MO and graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. He was an active member of Union Lutheran Church. He tutored York area adults who were pursuing their G.E.D.

Lee is survived by son, Reid G. Wientge of Radnor, PA; son, Stephen R. Wientge and his daughter Avy of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Rebecca Frankhouse and her husband, Don of Baltimore, MD; and granddaughter, Rebecca Frankhouse Conrad and her husband, Will and their son, Ford of Keyser, WV.

Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA with his pastor, the Rev. Joel Folkemer, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
