Obituary for Vincent "Vin" Masch Sr.
Vincent R. Masch, Sr., 83, of Wrightsville, died peacefully, Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Rest Haven-York after an 18 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born in York on December 16, 1933, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Elizabeth (Bolton) Masch. Vin was the loving husband of 54 years of Lydia L. (Burg) Masch.
Vin was a graduate of Wrightsville High School. He was a US Army Veteran. Vin went onto work as an electrician. He was a lifetime social member of the Kreutz Creek Valley VFW Post #7045, Hellam.
Vin was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing on the Susquehanna River. He enjoyed Notre Dame Football and hanging out with his buddies, the family dogs Ruger and Bullet.
In addition to his wife Lydia, Vin is survived by his sons: Vincent R. Masch, Jr. of Dallastown; Michael S. Masch, and his wife Michele of Wrightsville; and Gregory A. Masch of Wrightsville, and his granddaughters: Kendra and Raelynn Masch. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Philip, Carl, and Paul Masch, his sisters: Margaret Heiland and Val Funk, and his beloved grandson: Austin M. Masch.
A memorial service to celebrate Vin’s life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 700 Hellam Street, Wrightsville. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors accorded by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
