Obituary for Eleanor Henise

Eleanor Henise
Eleanor P. Henise, 95, of York, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 30, 2017 at Manor Care – Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late Harry E. Henise. Born in Springettsbury Twp., on March 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Fannie M. (Seeger) Peters.

Eleanor was a homemaker, and was very active in Fourth United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She loved sewing and was a great seamstress, gardening, especially passion flowers and holly. Eleanor was a volunteer for several organizations.

She is survived by a brother, Floyd T. Peters of York, a sister, Idonna G. Miller of Utica, MI, a brother, Harry R. Peters of Fort Collins, CO, a brother, Warren A. Peters of York, a sister, Susan M. Peters of York and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Fannie Ellen Peters, Thelma Peters, Gertie H. Stough, Sylvia R. Landis, Hilda L. Ruth, Florence D. Peters, M. Lavere Peters, Leona R. Peters and Charles P. Peters.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York. A viewing will be held Thursday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at Fourth United Methodist Church, 20 N. Lehman St., York, PA 17403.
