Mae Jean Emenheiser, 91, died on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Misericordia Nursing Home.
She was the wife of Richard E. Emenheiser, who died in 1971.
Born May 22, 1926, in Yorkana, she was the daughter of the late Fred F. and Estella N. Snyder.
Mae Jean attended school in Yorkana and was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Yorkana. She worked for many years at the former Curtain Call Costumes and King’s Sportswear as a trimmer. She was an election poll watcher and a former member of the school board for Eastern York School District. Mae Jean loved bowling and won many trophies.
She is survived by her two sons, Colin E. Emenheiser of Carson City, Nevada and Roland D. Emenheiser of Washington, DC. Mae Jean was predeceased by her twin sister Madlyn J. Kauffman and her two brothers, Kenneth T. Brillhart and Proctor Snyder, all of York.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Christ United Methodist Church, 5 Main Street, Yorkana, with the Rev. Jason Guillaume, officiating. A private burial will be in Yorkana Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
