Obituary for Norma Wolfgang
Norma “Jane” Wolfgang, 87, of York died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home. She is the wife of Donald E. Wolfgang. Jane and Don celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on February 27, 2017.
Born October 23, 1929 in Corsica, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Gertrude (Coulter) Rossey.
Jane was a lifelong beautician and co-owner/operator of Wolfgang Shoe and Sporting Goods Store, North York.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, North York where she was a member of the choir, served on various committees, and was active in Friendly Neighbors. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star, White Rose Chapter #360.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 2 sons, Donald Wolfgang and his wife, Pam of Spring Grove and Dennis Wolfgang and his partner, Troy Watson of York; a grandson, Brandon Wolfgang and his wife, Michelle of Hanover; 2 great grandchildren, Emma and Aidin Wolfgang; 2 sisters, Thelma Alcorn of York and Nancy Simpson of Corsica; and 3 brothers, Barry Lynn Rossey of Brookville, PA, Norris Rossey of Washington, and Sheldon Rossey of Hazen, PA. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Ann Long and her 5 brothers, Wardell, Ted, Fred, Clair, and Bob Rossey.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church, 947 North George Street, York with her pastor, the Rev. Beth A. Schlegel, STS, officiating. A viewing will be held Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Private burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
